Plans and billing

Shopify billing, the free trial, product limits and what happens when you downgrade.

How billing works

The RenderX uses Shopify's managed pricing. Shopify shows the plans, charges you, and puts the charge on your regular Shopify bill. We never take payment ourselves, and we never see your card.

Change plan any time from the app: click Upgrade in the header. Shopify's plan page opens; pick a plan and approve it. The app picks up the change within minutes. You can see the current plans on our pricing page.

Free trial

Paid plans start with a 14-day free trial. If you cancel during the trial, you aren't charged. Shopify handles the trial, so its rules apply.

Plans and limits

Each plan allows a number of products with 3D. Every plan has every viewer feature; some plans add extras:

  • Free: a small "3D by The RenderX" link (24 px or smaller) under the viewer.
  • Starter and up: no The RenderX link; catalogs: a grid of 3D pieces on any store page, with 25 uploaded .3dm pieces on Starter, 100 on Growth and 500 on Pro (products in catalogs don't count); shoppers download photos with your watermark, watermark styles, and photo exports up to 2048 px.
  • Growth and up: metal follows your variant picker and On hand: shoppers see your ring on a 3D hand; bulk photos, 360° videos, STL files and the Save button on the 3D view, with your watermark on shoppers' copies. Bulk photos: up to 50 products per run.
  • Pro: photo exports up to 4096 px, bulk photos with no limit per run, analytics CSV export and priority support.

Replacing the file on a product that already has 3D never counts as a new product.

When you reach your limit

  • Your existing 3D products keep working.
  • Adding 3D to another product is blocked, with an Upgrade button.

When you downgrade

If your new plan allows fewer products than you have:

  • the newest products over the limit are hidden from your store: the viewer disappears from those product pages;
  • their files are kept, in your Shopify Files and (if you kept originals) on our server;
  • the app and your email list the hidden products.

They come back automatically, oldest first, when you upgrade or remove 3D from other products.

Refunds and invoices

Invoices are in your Shopify admin under Settings → Billing. Because Shopify handles the charges, refunds go through Shopify's billing; contact us and we'll help.
